Brandenburg Molecular Biology Talk
Joaquina Delas Vives is a Group Leader at UCL's Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology (LMCB) and a Wellcome Career Development Awardee (2024). Her research focuses on understanding how cis-regulatory elements control cell fate decisions during development, using cutting-edge genomics, proteomics, and imaging approaches. She completed her PhD at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, US, where she studied long non-coding RNAs in stem cell differentiation and self-renewal. During her postdoctoral research at The Francis Crick Institute, UK, she uncovered key cis-regulatory strategies controlling neural progenitor cell fate during spatial and temporal patterning. Her work has been recognized with numerous fellowships, including awards from the Wellcome Trust, Leading Edge, Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds, and "la Caixa" Foundation.
