Keynote | Rolf Apweiler, EMBL´s European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI), UK

Join us at this year's Current Topics in Bioinformatics conference, where we'll explore best practices in health data management and advances in digital health approaches that benefit patients. Learn from experts from industry and academia about the following topics:

  1. Data integration and interoperability is essential for healthcare delivery.
  2. Data governance and privacy in compliance with privacy regulations.
  3. Artificial intelligence and machine learning enable more accurate and personalized healthcare.
  4. Precision medicine: By tailoring treatments to individual patients' genetic and biological characteristics, precision medicine promises to improve treatment outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
  5. Patient engagement: Engaging patients in their own care can improve outcomes and reduce costs by empowering them to take an active role in managing their health.

Overall, health data management and digital health are critical to improving the quality, accessibility, and affordability of healthcare. By leveraging the latest technologies and best practices, we can transform healthcare and improve lives. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to learn, connect, and collaborate with experts and colleagues from around Berlin/Brandenburg.

Please find the agenda below.

Participation is free of charge.

About the event

“Current Topics in Bioinformatics” is an annual symposium bringing together the local experts in Bioinformatics from academia and industry in the Berlin-Brandenburg region. The series was founded in 2003 by the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics (MPIMG) together with the Healthcare Industries Cluster HealthCapital Berlin-Brandenburg. In 2017, a Steering Committee including Bayer AG, the Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) and the MPIMG has been established to further advance the series and establish it as the annual meeting of Bioinformaticians in the Berlin-Brandenburg region. Since 2023, the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin joins the Steering Committee.

Steering Committee

Prof. Dr. Dr. Edda Klipp, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin

Prof. Dr. Uwe Ohler, Max-Delbrück-Centrum for Molecular Medicine, Berlin
